When did you start skiing? How did you get into it?

I started skiing around age 6 when my family moved to Montana. The first winter we were there me and my brothers all started going to Bridger Bowl every weekend. In a ski town like Bozeman that is just what everyone did, and I immediately fell in love with skiing. As a kid I looked up to my older brother and all his friends—I was the little younger brother always trying to tag along and ski with them.

What is your favorite place to ski?

Anywhere that the snow is good and I’m with some good friends. I’ve been very fortunate to ski all over the world, but as far as a favorite location I have to say Japan is one of the most fun places to do a ski trip.

What’s a fun fact most people don’t know about you?

I’m a big soccer fan and, if I’m not skiing, I usually wake up super early on weekend mornings to watch English Premier League.

When you’re not skiing, what are you up to?

Come summer, I can enjoy a nice break from skiing and do some other activities. I love to get out mountain biking, fly fishing, hunting and camping. My girlfriend and I have a little Casita camper trailer, so we try and do a couple road trips in that each summer and explore some new areas.

What’s your favorite snack to enjoy while skiing?

I’m definitely a big snacker—I usually have a good assortment of bars to keep me going throughout the day. So yeah, any kind of bar that seems to be somewhat healthy and has some good stuff in it to keep me fueled up on long days.

What’s one piece of advice you have for someone looking to get into your sport at a deeper level?

Don’t compare yourself to other people around you: Focus on what you are doing and let things come naturally. If you’re dedicated and put it in the work, opportunities will come.
